Michael Sisneros

Mike grew up in a divided home with a loving mother and an abusive father. The cycle of violence continued when Mike was bullied in school and, to protect himself, sought respect through fear and intimidation as he became entangled in gang life, selling and using drugs.

At 20, Mike’s mother passed away leading to an increase in substance abuse and violence. Things changed immediately for Mike when he reached out to God and immediately experienced a profound sense of change. He started attending church, found faith, and was baptized. His journey of redemption began when he became a youth pastor, preaching and helping others find their way.

But the pull of his former life remained strong. With family and friends still battling addiction, Mike sought ways to give back and he became the first peer coach at Crossroads in the valley.

At an opioids conference in Montrose, Mike met Racquel Garcia, and their shared vision for substance abuse recovery created a lasting connection. They reunited at a peer meeting in Alamosa, Colorado, where Racquel offered him a job with HardBeauty. This opportunity allowed Mike to channel his experiences into helping others on their paths to recovery.

Today, Mike is a valued member of the HardBeauty team, grateful for the second chance at life and the support of those around him. His journey from a troubled past to a beacon of hope underscores the possibility of redemption and the impact of compassion and community.
