Toni lives in Alamosa, CO and joined HardBeauty as a Peer Recovery Coach. She is in long-term recovery from substance misuse and mental health issues borne from childhood trauma and abuse. She is a single mom to three sons and is committed to breaking the cycle of generational trauma in her family lineage.
Prior to entering recovery, working in the healthcare field and becoming a peer coach, Toni was a single mother, unhoused and caught up in the criminal justice system. Now she is certified as a Family & Peer Specialist and sits on the Tough as a Mother Advisory Council and the Region18 Opioid Abatement Council as well as the local teen prevention council.
Because the rural community she lives in offered no peer support, her deep dive to find resources led her to HardBeauty, and now she serves that same remote community providing the resources that they desperately need.
“I want to show people that there is light at the end of the tunnel and there are people out in the world who really care and are unconditionally willing to walk the journey with them.”
