The Survivor’s Resume walks survivors of domestic violence through how they can reclaim their strengths by flipping shame on its head. We share how the very things we feel ashamed of—what we did to survive abuse, like lying—can actually be flipped and reframed as strengths, skills that demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and courage — or in the case of lying, incredible creativity. By creating a personal resume of these hard-won qualities, we step into our power, redefining ourselves not by our past but by our potential. We invite others to look at their stories with new eyes, to honor what they’ve survived, and to own the strengths that were forged in those moments. In this 2-part workshop, we talk about building an actual resume. In part 1, we walk through the information and stories, Q&A, and start the process. In part 2, participants return with their finished resume to walk through how they worked on flipping shame.
